You have a choice of three companies if you’re looking for cheap train tickets to Sheffield from Manchester. TransPennine Express and East Midlands Railway run faster services, while Northern runs the stopping train. Let’s see how the prices compare a week in advance:

Yes, there are cheap train tickets to Sheffield on this route! It’s usually the case that the direct East Midlands Railway service from Norwich, Thetford, Ely and Peterborough to Sheffield gives the best fare, but this can vary. Here’s what we found a month in advance from Norwich:

It really can vary depending on the time of day, so we’d recommend checking all of your options. If you can’t find a suitable fare, check whether booking to Peterborough first and then from Peterborough to Sheffield works better.
